  CENSUS DAY 2020. This year is too much for April Fools Day. Celebrate Census Day instead.

In these times of uncertainty and physical distancing, standing together is critical. Completing the census (and getting out the count) are two actions we can take to support our communities and participate fully in our democracy during the coronavirus crisis.

Vote Absentee Ballot. Go to http://lwvdetroit.org/elections.html for a special message from Governor Whitmer regarding this election. Elections on May 5 in Wayne County. The 5 May election includes Wayne County, but only for Garden City Public Schools, Hamtramck Public Schools, and Melvindale-N. Allen Park Schools.

Following Governor Whitmer's executive order (for the 5 May election): If you are registered to vote, you will automatically receive an absentee ballot application.

Boarding location TBA SAVE THE DATE: Detroit Bus Tour. Join the LWV of Detroit for another bus tour with Detroit History Tours, LLC. We have reserved this date but have not settled on which tour. (FMI on the types of tours offered, go to detroithistorytours.com).

We will need volunteers at this fundraising event (greeters, ticket takers, someone to make programs, etc.). If you're interested in volunteering, contact Susan Slattery at sslattery7@comcast.net
