VOTE 411

The Nation League of Women Voters launched an online voter education network called VOTE 411 in the early 1990s. At VOTE411.org, you can find essential information about the election process, including candidate debates and ballot issues.

Early Voting

Early voting is casting a ballot into a tabulator, in person before Election Day. Statewide and federal elections are required to offer early voting at least nine consecutive days before an election. Plan to vote early in person at early voting sites. To find your early voting site, visit mi.gov/vote.

Absentee Voting

An absentee (or absent) vote means completing your voting ballot at home. These ballots are typically available beginning 40 days before every election. You can vote absentee by dropping your ballot off at the mail, online, local clerk’s office, secured drop box, or at your early voting site or election day polling place.
