We appreciate your interest in supporting the League of Women Voters of Detroit. Following are several ways to give to our League.
Donate to the Detroit League
Your charitable donation will go directly to our vital work to empower voters and defend democracy. Together, we can ensure our elections are free, fair, and accessible.
Your charitable gift to the League of Women Voters of Detroit, a 501(c)(4) organization, is not tax-deductible. Your gift will support our work to increase understanding of major public policy issues through education advocacy.

Give to the LWV Education Fund
Established in 1957, the League of Women Voters Education Fund (LWVEF) encourages active and informed participation in government. LWVEF offers citizen education and research to help Americans perform their civic duties, including exercising their right to vote, particularly those at the greatest risk of disenfranchisement.
LWVEF helps to facilitate dialogues that enable communities to bridge political and ideological divides and find common ground on issues of most significant concern, from terrorism to global poverty. By providing voter registration and election information as well as voter services and citizen education activities (e.g., voter guides, VOTE411.org, and candidate forums), the LWV Education Fund seeks to do the following:
- Build citizen participation in the democratic process.
- Study key community issues at all government levels in an unbiased manner.
- Enable people to seek positive solutions to public policy issues through education and conflict management.
Donations to the LWV Education Fund, a 501(c)(3) corporation, are fully tax-deductible where allowed by law.
To support the League’s Education Fund, please send a check payable to LWV Education Fund or LWVEF.
Mail LWVEF checks to the Detroit LWV Office ・PO Box 2503 ・Detroit, MI 48202. Thank you in advance for your support.
If you have questions about donating to the LWV Detroit Education Fund, contact our League treasurer, Kim Garland, at lwvdetroit@gmail.com or 313-288-9590.
For more information on the LWVEF, review the League of Women Voters Education Fund Clearing House, which contains studies and research conducted by League members. Visitors may download and print the documents.
