Under normal circumstances, during an election year the Detroit League would be hosting candidate forums as a way to introduce political candidates to the community. But these are not normal times. So to fulfill our obligations, we are posting digital information: candidate forums, informational videos, and videoclips from candidates running for office in Detroit, Hamtramck and Highland Park.

The Detroit League has invited candidates running for office to participate in an online meet and greet for the August 4, 2020 Primary Election. LWVDetroit has sent this invitation to all candidates who have registered with the Department of Elections for State District seats in which at least two (2) candidates are running. The videoclips allow candidates to remotely introduce themselves and spread their message. They also give voters a virtual opportunity to make informed decisions in electing candidates for office.
Below you will find two-minute videoclips from candidates who have chosen to share a brief personal description, the office they are seeking, and why they should be elected.
