On Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 6pm, please join the Detroit Public Library, the League of Women Voters of Detroit, and MSU Extension for a virtual program that will cover the basics of the Open Meetings Act, including key definitions, requirements, and public participation at open meetings.
Voters can apply for an absentee ballot for the February 2024 election in all the usual ways: online (with a current Michigan driver’s license or state ID card), completing a paper application in person at their city or township clerk’s office, or mailing a completed paper application to their city or township clerk. Any Michigan voter can vote in the Presidential Primary election – they do not have to be a member of a political party. However, to vote in the Presidential Primary, voters DO have to choose a ballot, either a Republican ballot, a Democratic ballot, or a ballot without the presidential primary.
