State voters overwhelmingly amended the constitution to create a Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission (MICRC), and now the Redistricting Commission is ready to hear from you to help ensure fair and representative districts.
MICRC’s Map Michigan Community Week is Monday, August 30 through Friday, September 30. Follow along on social media or learn more at www.michigan.gov/MICRC.
During Map Michigan Community Week, the Commission encourages you to use their public comment portal to tell them what’s important to you as they draw the new district lines. Let your voice be heard. You can provide your thoughts to the Commission in three ways:
- Providing written testimony
- Drawing your own districting plan (partial or whole)
- Submitting a community of interest map
To access the public comment portal, go to https://www.michigan.gov/micrc/ and click on SUBMIT PUBLIC COMMENT link.
