October 23 is National Vote Early Day!
Last year, we saw how increased voter turnout can change the face of our country. With thousands of state and local elections taking place this year, it’s critical to make sure our loved ones have the tools they need to cast their ballots.
This weekend is an opportunity for many Americans to cast their votes early – whether by heading to a polling site or filling out their ballot to mail or drop off.
Now is the time to reach out to members of our community and encourage them to make a plan to vote.
Voting early isn’t just personally empowering – it also helps reduce the strain on our elections systems and helps keep us, our communities, and our election workers safe.
Here are a few steps you can take to help promote early voting:
- If people you know aren’t sure how they plan to vote, point them toward VOTE411 — LWV’s source for accurate and localized election information.
- Text at least 5 people and offer to help them make a voting plan.
- Check out #VoteEarlyDay on social media and inspire Americans everywhere to cast a vote.
LWV thanks you for everything you’re doing to empower voters this year.
