Redistricting Commission Public Engagement

The MI Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission needs you to raise your voice and share how the Commission should reconfigure Michigan House of Representatives districts #1, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, and 14. Please share your comments, maps, or communities of interest in one or both portals below. We need to hear from you.

Of the maps advanced to the public comment period, our pro-democracy partner, Promote the Vote, is most confident in the Motown Sound map, drawn collaboratively by the Commission. This map offers the groundwork for best-maximizing fairness and equitable opportunities for all Michigan communities. However, the Commission must improve partisan fairness, incorporate community of interest feedback, and address municipal boundaries to make Motown Sound the best for Michigan. Whichever map is chosen, the Commission needs to listen to public input and make necessary improvements to ensure a fair, representative map.
