Hosted by the Michigan Department of State and Campus Vote Project at Oakland University, this annual, nonpartisan event brings together students and educators in Michigan to connect and learn about civic engagement and education! The 2023 Student Voting Summit will feature sessions and events for Michigan high school students and educators for the first time ever. Special sessions and breakouts include the following:

  • A roundtable discussion featuring MI Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, MI Attorney General Dana Nessel, and other elected state leaders!
  • A breakout session offering students the opportunity to directly connect with their elected state representatives in small group discussions, featuring a bipartisan group of more than a dozen state legislators!
  • A keynote address from State Senator Jeremy Moss.
  • Sessions for high school students and educators to learn about the impacts of pre-registration on student voting, high school engagement programs, and the youth voice and knowledge in civic education.
