The League of Women Voters of Leelanau County invites you to celebrate Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day at their virtual forum on Wednesday, March 8, at noon.
International Women’s Day began in New York City on March 8, 1857, when female textile workers marched in protest of unfair working conditions. It was one of the first organized strikes by working women, calling for a shorter workday and decent wages. International Women’s Day then developed and is celebrated in the United States and worldwide.
At this March Women’s History Forum, participants will learn about the lives of international, United States, Michigan, and Leelanau County women from volunteers who will give short presentations honoring them.
Register in advance by clicking HERE. After registering, the League will email you a confirmation containing information about joining the webinar.
