Join the Detroit League and the Detroit Library on February 13, 2024 at 6pm to meet Orville Vernon Burton, a Southern and legal historian; Judge Matthew J. Perry, a Professor of History at Clemson University; and Armand Derfner, a longtime civil rights attorney, as they discuss Burton and Derfner’s comprehensive account of the Supreme Court’s race-related jurisprudence ⏤ Justice Deferred: Race and the Supreme Court (published by Harvard University Press in 2021). University of Michigan Law grad William Cobbs will moderate the discussion.
